The Department of Commerce, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organised an academic session titled “Unlocking Business Opportunities” on 30 September 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the College Auditorium. The session was led by Mr. Prabin V. P., Industrial Extension Officer, Ollukkara Block Panchayat, who shared valuable insights into the process of identifying, evaluating, and developing potential business opportunities.

The session provided students with practical perspectives on entrepreneurship, business idea generation, opportunity identification, and the development of viable business ventures. The interaction helped students connect theoretical concepts with real-world entrepreneurial practices and encouraged them to recognise and explore emerging business opportunities and entrepreneurial possibilities.

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, successfully hosted “Insignia 2026,” the grand joint inauguration of its various student clubs and associations for the academic year 2026–27. The event marked the beginning of another vibrant year of student engagement, creativity, leadership, and co-curricular activities. The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Ajith Chittilappilly, officially inaugurated the programme and, in his keynote address, highlighted the transformative role of co-curricular engagement in nurturing creativity, leadership skills, confidence, and holistic development among students.

The formal session was presided over by the College Principal, Rev. Dr. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, with the welcome address delivered by Vice Principal Ms. Minu Thomas. A significant highlight of the occasion was the official launch of the annual college magazine, “Maulika,” presented by Staff Editor Ms. Akshatha A S. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Club Coordinator Ms. Teslin Seby, who expressed gratitude to everyone whose enthusiastic participation contributed to the success of the event. The ceremony was further enriched by vibrant cultural performances by the students, making Insignia 2026 a memorable and celebratory beginning to the academic year.

The Department of Psychology and the Department of Social Work, Don Bosco College Mannuthy, jointly organised “Nammal Koode – Training Programme on Suicide Prevention” on 10 September 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the AV Hall, in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day.

The programme aimed to create awareness about suicide prevention, promote mental health and emotional well-being, and encourage students to practise empathy, active listening, and timely support. The session emphasised the importance of reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, fostering open conversations, and creating a caring, supportive, and inclusive community where individuals feel safe to seek help when needed.

Promoting Safety, Responsibility and Responsible Road Use

As part of the Value Education Class, the Department of Computer Science, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organised a Road Safety Awareness Class on 8 September 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the College Auditorium. The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students about road safety, traffic rules and responsible behaviour on the road.

The session was led by Mr. Binoj S, Assistant Motor Vehicles Inspector, RTO, Thrissur, who shared valuable insights into safe and responsible road usage. He highlighted the importance of following traffic regulations, wearing helmets and seat belts, obeying traffic signals, avoiding distracted driving and maintaining discipline while travelling. The session also helped students understand the serious consequences that can result from careless or irresponsible behaviour on the road.

The awareness class was an informative and meaningful initiative that connected value education with real-life responsibility. It encouraged students to become more alert, disciplined and responsible road users and reminded them that road safety is a shared responsibility. The programme concluded with a strong message that responsible choices on the road can protect lives and contribute to building a safer society.

The Department of Social Work, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, in collaboration with the Social Outreach and Welfare Club and IQAC, organised “Back to the Shore,” a beach cleaning drive at Kazhimbram Beach on 21 September 2026. The initiative was aimed at fostering a sense of environmental responsibility and encouraging students to actively contribute to the protection and preservation of coastal ecosystems.

The programme provided students with an opportunity to engage in collective action for marine conservation, coastal protection, and responsible waste management. Through their active participation in the cleaning drive, students developed greater awareness of the environmental impact of waste and the importance of maintaining clean and sustainable coastal environments. The initiative also strengthened teamwork, social responsibility, and community engagement, making “Back to the Shore” a meaningful step towards building environmentally conscious citizens.

The Department of Commerce, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, in association with Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies, Kodakara, organised a Student Training Programme on “Promotions and Segments Microsimulation” on 17 September 2026 for approximately 50 Second Year B.Com students from B.Com CA and B.Com Finance programmes. The session was led by Mr. Amson Symon, Assistant Professor, Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies, who provided students with practical insights into promotional strategies, market segmentation, and microsimulation.

The programme was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical business applications. Through the interactive session, students gained a better understanding of how promotional activities and market segmentation can be analysed using practical approaches and microsimulation techniques. The training enhanced their academic knowledge, analytical skills, and practical understanding of contemporary business concepts, making the session a valuable learning experience

An Ode to Our Gurus

The Azora Students Union of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organised a heartfelt Teachers’ Day Celebration titled “Diksha – An Ode to Our Gurus” on 7 September 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted as a tribute to the teachers whose dedication, guidance and encouragement continue to shape the lives and aspirations of students. The celebration provided an opportunity for students to express their gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable role played by their teachers.

The celebration was designed to honour the teaching community and recognise the lasting impact of a teacher’s presence in a student’s life. Through the programme, students celebrated the bond between teachers and learners and reflected on the values of knowledge, patience, inspiration and mentorship. The event beautifully conveyed the message that while lessons and chapters may eventually fade from memory, the teachers who inspire students to believe in themselves leave an enduring mark on their lives.

The “Diksha” Teachers’ Day Celebration was a warm and meaningful occasion that brought together students and teachers in a spirit of gratitude and togetherness. The programme served as a sincere expression of appreciation for the commitment and care of the teaching fraternity and celebrated the unique relationship between a teacher and a student. It was a memorable tribute to the gurus who enlighten minds, nurture character and inspire students to become the best versions of themselves.

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, celebrated the auspicious festival of Onam with immense fervor and traditional grandeur under the banner of ONAAROHAM 2026 on August 20, 2026. Embracing the festive spirit centered around harmony, prosperity, and campus togetherness, the entire college community—dressed in vibrant Kerala ethnic attire—gathered at 10:00 AM to partake in the joyous cultural festivities.

The celebrations began with a grand, traditional ceremonial entry of King Mahabali, setting an energetic and cheerful tone across the campus grounds. Following a solemn prayer rendered by Devanandha K. P, the formal assembly was inaugurated. Ms. Minu Thomas (Vice Principal) delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for the distinguished dignitaries. Rev. Fr. Devassykutty Kollamkudi SDB (Vice Rector) officially inaugurated the event and delivered an inspiring Onam message on selflessness, righteousness, and mutual harmony. The audience was further delighted by the traditional Maveli message, followed by warm festive greetings from Rev. Dr. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB (Principal) and words of felicitation from Fr. Rubin Mathew SDB (Administrator). The formal session concluded with a gracious vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anitta Louis, who appreciated the management, organizing committee, and student body for their dedication.

The day reached a high point of excitement with the presence of Sun Network’s Surya Comedy crew on campus to shoot their special Onam episode for the show ഇപ്പോ ശരിയാക്കിത്തരാം (Ippo Shariyakki Tharaam). Hosted by the popular media personality RJ Althwaf, the interactive comedy segments, witty student engagements, and festive skits electrified the atmosphere. Alongside the media showcase, students actively participated in rich cultural presentations, including traditional Thiruvathirakali and Onappattukal, creating a truly memorable experience. ONAAROHAM 2026 concluded on a high note, beautifully blending cultural heritage with contemporary entertainment and leaving an enduring spirit of camaraderie across Don Bosco College.

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, Thrissur, organized a grand Onam celebration on 17 August 2026 at 10:00 AM on the college campus. The programme was organized to celebrate the spirit of Onam and to provide students with an opportunity to experience and showcase Kerala’s rich cultural traditions.

The celebration began with the Welcome Address by Rev. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, followed by the Onam Message delivered by Rev. Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB. The programme also featured the Onam Name Unveiling by the Azora College Union, marking an important highlight of the celebration.

A variety of traditional and contemporary cultural performances made the event lively and engaging. Thiruvathira by Anet & Team, Fusion Dance by Pournami & Team, and the Onam Song performed by Clifford & Team entertained the audience and added colour to the festivities. The celebration also featured Chenda Melam, Maveli and Pulikali, bringing the traditional charm of Kerala’s Onam celebrations to the campus.

The event provided students and staff with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the values of unity, joy, cultural heritage and community spirit associated with Onam. The combination of traditional performances and live entertainment created a festive atmosphere throughout the campus.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Minu Thomas. The successful conduct of the celebration reflected the collective efforts of the college community and contributed to creating memorable Onam celebrations for the students and staff of Don Bosco College Mannuthy.

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with a solemn and patriotic flag-hoisting ceremony on August 15 at 8:30 AM.

The National Flag was hoisted by Rev. Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB, Rector and Manager, who delivered an inspiring message highlighting the values of patriotism, unity, and responsibility. The celebration also featured an inspiring message from the Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jimmy Jose SDB.

The ceremony was attended by the college’s NCC cadets and NSS volunteers, whose presence added to the spirit and solemnity of the occasion. The celebration concluded with the singing of “Vande Mataram” followed by the National Anthem, bringing the programme to a dignified and patriotic close.

The Department of Social Work and IQAC, Don Bosco College, Thrissur, in collaboration with the Women & Child Development Department, organised a community outreach programme titled “Healthy Women, Healthy Families” at Pancheri Grama Panchayat on 15 August 2026. The programme was organised with the objective of promoting health awareness and empowering women with essential knowledge on personal health, hygiene, and well-being.

The sessions were led by Ms. Jayasree M. G., Ms. Devika T. R., and Mr. Ajil Skaria, who addressed important topics including gender sensitisation, menstrual hygiene, and proper sanitary pad management. The programme provided community women with practical information and encouraged informed and healthy practices, contributing to greater awareness of women’s health and the well-being of families and the wider community.

A session on "How to Kickstart Your Project" was conducted by department of Computer science at Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, Thrissur, on 29 July 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the college auditorium. The session was led by Mr. Gopikrishnan P. G., CEO of Grapesgenix Technical Solutions Pvt. Ltd., who shared valuable insights on initiating successful academic and technical projects. He explained the importance of selecting relevant project topics, identifying real-world problems, planning project development, choosing suitable technologies, and following a systematic approach to project execution. The speaker also highlighted industry expectations, common mistakes to avoid, and ways to enhance project quality through innovation and teamwork. The session was highly informative, interactive, and beneficial for students, motivating them to approach their projects with confidence and a clear roadmap for success.

The Department of Mathematics, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized an orientation session titled "Introduction to JASP" on 28 July 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the College Auditorium. The session aimed to familiarize students with JASP, a free and user-friendly statistical software widely used for data analysis and research.

The resource person for the session was Ms. Kamarunnisa P. K., Assistant Professor in Statistics, Ansar Women's College, Perumpilavu. She introduced the participants to the basic features and applications of JASP, highlighting its importance in statistical analysis, academic research, and project work. The session covered essential topics such as data entry, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, graphical representation of data, and interpretation of statistical outputs.

The resource person demonstrated the practical use of JASP through live examples, making it easier for students to understand the software's interface and functionality. She also explained how JASP can simplify statistical computations without requiring programming knowledge.

The session was interactive, with students actively participating by asking questions and clarifying their doubts. The orientation provided valuable insights into statistical software and motivated students to explore JASP for their academic and research activities

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, Thrissur, organized "Novatos Fiesta – Freshers' Day 2026" on 31 July 2026 at the College Auditorium from 1:00 PM onwards. The event was organized by the AZORA College Union to warmly welcome the first-year students and provide them with an opportunity to experience the vibrant campus culture.

The highlight of the celebration was the live performance by renowned DJ Achu, whose energetic music created an exciting and lively atmosphere. Students enthusiastically participated in the event, enjoying music, dance, and interactive sessions that encouraged friendship and camaraderie among the new batch.

The Freshers' Day celebration served as a platform for the newcomers to interact with seniors, faculty members, and fellow classmates, helping them feel welcomed into the Don Bosco family. The event reflected the institution's commitment to fostering a joyful, inclusive, and student-friendly campus environment.

Novatos Fiesta 2026 concluded on a high note, leaving the students with memorable experiences and marking the beginning of a new chapter in their academic journey at Don Bosco College, Mannuthy.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit No. 338 of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, participated in the District-Level "Nasha Mukht Yuva for Viksit Bharat" Competition, organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Thrissur, in association with the National Service Scheme, Thrissur, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, on 1 August 2026 at Don Bosco College, Mannuthy.

The event featured various competitions, including Group Dance, Mime, Group Song, Painting, Elocution, Slam Poetry, Reel Making, and Slogan Writing, promoting the message of a Drug-Free India.

The NSS volunteers of Don Bosco College delivered outstanding performances and brought laurels to the institution by securing:
